Kona Bicycles

At Kona, they are all about the freedom and empowerment of the bicycle. They have been around since 1988. They still have the same founding owners. Kona is populated by a staff of keen, active, impassioned cyclists. They are not big, nor are they that small. Kona is just a dedicated group of cyclists making bicycles for people who love bikes-no matter if that love is new or long established.

  • Started making road bikes in 1990 but known for their mountain bikes. They were established in 1988.
  • Kona was the first brand to produce a complete range of sloping top tube design mountain bike frames.
  • The Canadian headquarters are located near the famous North Shore mountains of Vancouver, leading Kona to develop a range of Freeride mountain bikes in 1998 known for durability as well as for their ability to handle extremely technical downhill terrain.
  • Kona has gone on to develop a complete range of road, commuter, cyclocross in addition to a complete range of mountain bikes. Using a range of materials including Carbon Fiber, Titanium, Aluminum and Steel, Kona’s bikes are sold in over 60 countries worldwide.
  • Kona has a limited lifetime warranty on all of their bicycle frames.

Mountain Bikes

At Kona, innovation doesn’t let them sleep and passion keeps them riding every day. At Kona they live, breath, eat, sleep, and repeat mountain biking. And they do it in every discipline imaginable: from downhill to dirt jump, cross-country to crosstrail, enduro, all-mountain, any-trail-you-want, to riding free of classification altogether. For 2016 Kona lets their bikes do the talking. With now legendary platforms like the ride-it-all Process bikes, the performance and price perfected Precepts, completely re-designed Hei Heis and Kahunas, an expanded Honzo range, to an all new 27.5 Operator, this is the best line-up of off-road bicycles in Kona’s 28-year history. From titanium to carbon fiber, cromoly to refined alloys, full suspension that’s quick, smart and intangibly fun, and new geometry that takes their industry leading hardtails to an unprecedented level of fit, efficiency, control, and comfort. Yes, the Kona Ride just exploded into a whole new stratosphere of good times.

Road Bikes

When it comes to Kona’s Road Collection, they’re proud to present the largest, most eclectic group of skinny (and not so skinny) tire bikes in their 28-year history. Since Kona first started designing road bikes in 1990 they’ve always done it a little different—bikes that use unique materials like titanium and chromoly, with geometry and features that not only maximize efficiency and speed, but the almighty fun quotient as well. Because for Kona, whether you’re racing 200 miles of gravel or bombing farm roads, how a bike makes you smile is just as important as how fast it gets to the finish. You see, for Kona, roads are just like trails. They come in all shapes and sizes. They go up, they go down, they roll out rough and smooth as silk. Creating bikes that go everywhere, all the time, with geometry, parts, and features tailored to find that perfect balance of performance, price and purpose defines Kona. You’ll see this ethic come alive in new models like the Roadhouse, the Private Jake and the Esatto Fast.
